Irina Varina
A performer and filmmaker working in New York and Philadelphia. She has acted in film and theater, as well as produced her own work. In 2016 she created "Speculum Diaries", a solo show about longing, which debuted at Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Her first feature film "Us, Forever Ago" is scheduled to screen at indie festivals throughout 2018.
Most of Irina's projects start out as explorations of life experiences that are hard to put into words or seem too shameful. Embarrassment, discomfort and laughter are often parts of the process. Her work tends to revolve around women, personal history and the desire to connect and find a place in the world.
